Back
One of 6 dramatic and colorful sleeping rugs purchased from Baluchi tribesmen living in the area between Quetta and Kandahar. The rug measures 47" x 69". The wool is long and glossy, and the dyes appear to be all natural (what seems to be a blue diamond in the center of each the concentric diamonds is actually a dark shade of green). Front and back display their own charms. It's interesting to see the design of the flat woven ends that would have been visible to the lucky nomad sleeping beneath. One of the 6 was featured in a Textile Museum presentation by John Wertime, see: https://rjohnhowe.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/john-wertime-on-primitive-pil... This would be a great addition to the Baluchi collector who thought he had an example one of everything. sold
