19th c. Chenille Portiere Burnished gold colored chenille embroidery with bottom end oval and fan (14” w x 17”l) with floral stems and a floral bouquet at top (24” w x 43” l). Lattice around bottom third of oval extending to side borders at bottom. 3 ½” border of flower and vine around all edges. Machine embroidery throughout with metallic and metallic thread wrapped chenille used as for design. Size: 4’ w x 7’5” L Condition: Good condition, except rare thread loose and metallic thread tarnished. Two 3” separations in body near one side. Possibly made in Italy
