Antique 'TigerTongue'/'Boat'/'Leech' money from Laos/Golden Triangle...18th c; rare. These were 'coin of the realm' in the Lancang Kingdom of ancient Laos from the 16th to the 19th c. Called 'ngun plin' in Thailand. This example is especially rare - normally they're half this size and rather dull in appearance. Aside from its rarity, its beauty is enhanced by its patina and the buttery texture from usage for a few hundred years.
