Here is a lovely camel hair field Baluch balisht dating to around 1870/1880. Measuring 19" x 38" the balisht face is in very good condition with mostly full pile. Deep rich colors of camel hair, undyed black and brown wool, a warm rust madder and a darker aubergine, a dark blue, dark forest green and a natural white. Great drawing with a very complex tree design well drawn latch hook design along the inner border. Most of the wefting is a mix of grey or grey and white wool. At the top end of the pillow she used some purple (aniline purple?) wool for wefting in the last six or so rows and this gives me the date of 1870/80. Another piece of great tribal art and very reasonably priced
