#7794 Kerman Oriental Rug
This antique Kerman Oriental Carpet which was bought new in 1927 measures 10’8” x 16’0”. It has a dark blue field with twelve flower filled cartouches which are on an ivory ground. It has a round center medallion with a red center. The field is absolutely covered in various flowers, trees, vines and botehs in pale blue, pale green, rose and red. The field of this rug is a veritable Garden of Eden. The only thing missing is the snake! It has a wide border composed of flowers, fruit trees, botehs, and shield patterns on a ruby red ground. The reciprocal borders are a very pale green filled with flowers and what appear to be Mosque domes on either side. The outer border is a smaller rendition of the field. This rug is in absolutely perfect condition. It is like it was made yesterday! It is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
