#7794 Kerman Oriental Rug This antique Kerman Oriental Carpet which was bought new in 1927 measures 10’8” x 16’0”. It has a dark blue field with twelve flower filled cartouches which are on an ivory ground. It has a round center medallion with a red center. The field is absolutely covered in various flowers, trees, vines and botehs in pale blue, pale green, rose and red. The field of this rug is a veritable Garden of Eden. The only thing missing is the snake! It has a wide border composed of flowers, fruit trees, botehs, and shield patterns on a ruby red ground. The reciprocal borders are a very pale green filled with flowers and what appear to be Mosque domes on either side. The outer border is a smaller rendition of the field. This rug is in absolutely perfect condition. It is like it was made yesterday! It is full pile. The ends and sides are complete.
