Date 14th -15th century (Ming Dynasty). Dimensions of panel, 8 x 25 inches ( 20 x 64 cm), Dimensions of mounting, 12 x 30 inches (30 x 76cm). The text of the panel states the most ubiquitous of Tibetan mantras and is seen as epitomizing Buddhist doctrine. The panel may have been part of of the fabric border surrounding a large painted thanka.
