#6423 Shirvan Antique Caucasian Rug This circa 1870 Shirvan antique Oriental rug measures 4’0’ x 6’0’. It has fifteen panels with red and white medallions containing cross bars of ivory/blue , ivory/red , ivory/green , blue/yellow and blue/red etc. with animal motifs , all on a pale sky blue ground. Each panel is slightly different. It has very nice asymmetry. It has a lovely ivory border with red, blue and green serrated medallions. The rug has good pile with black erosion consistent with age.
