Antique Tekke Turkmen main carpet of large size with 5 rows of 17 guls. www.knightsantiques.co.uk Size: 13ft 9in x 8ft 2in (420 x 250cm). Circa 1890. The carpet is of a very unusual size, being longer than most that are available. The carpet is of a deep rich red colour with soft pink red to the guls and border. The drawing of both the main guls and the secondary guls is excellent. The border is a traditional Turkmen octagon design with many interesting elements. The carpet has complete long elems at both ends. The carpet is in good condition with even wear and good pile. The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use and would make a superb furnishing carpet. The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use. Stock Number: kh-02.
