Beautiful West Timor (most likely Isana), Indonesia, three paneled, ikat blanket. This is woven from a combination of natural dyed home spun cotton and commercial thread. The blue ikat bands are made from the homespun thread and natural indigo dye with a “mau fu” pattern, representing wild jungle fowl- a symbol of virility, Very intricate, symmetrical and well balanced. The alternating colorful bands are commercial cotton thread.
