Unusual tribal Ersari main rug with Mina Khani pattern. This pattern is usually reserved for chuvals, including some extremely large ones (if those wouldn't have had attached kilim backs, they'd have counted as rugs). The relatively small size of this piece suggests it is a tribal product, not for export. Second half 19th century. Good full pile, scattered mothing, ends and sides slightly frayed. Overall in good condition for the age. Strong gorgeous dyes. Thin wefted, nice floppy handle. Floor ready. Size 74.8 x 50.4 inch (190 x 128 cm).
