Antique Peking Chinese Oriental Rug #7885
This circa 1890 Peking Chinese antique Oriental rug measures 8’10” x 11’3” (272 x 344 cm). It has a very light camel hair edging into ivory colored field with a center medallion composed of a vase on a four legged stool out of which is growing a nice array of blooming flowers in blue, brown and cordovan. The same design is found in the opposite corners. The other two corners are composed of a single tree trunk with a flowering branch. There is a large border which has a blue background design consisting of a pair of orbs combined like a globe and bunches of flowers. Two corners consist of two tables; one high and holding brushes and one low with two pots holding brushes. The other two corners have a motif of three thick branches in brown and dark blue with smaller branches of flowers. The rug is essentially 98% full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
