Antique Indian Agra rug with all over design and superb colour. www.knightsantiques.co.uk
Circa 1890.
This rug was possibly woven in the prisons of Agra, India during the latter part of the 19th century.
This rug is a good example with a dark indigo ground covered in a herati design, The rug has a pleasing border design with the guards in a very light indigo blue.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile, the wool is very soft.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
Size: 6ft 9in x 3ft 10in (205 x 117cm).
