Late 19th century.
A good blue ground Baluch prayer rug with tree of life design to the field. The hand placements also contain a tree design. The main border is of a repeat leaf design.
The rug is in good condition with slight even wear, and good pile. The rug retains it original long kilim ends with a chevron design at the top end and a stripe design with weft work at the lower end. The rug does contain some very early synthetic dye that helps date it to the late 19th century.
The rug is ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Size: 4ft 2in x 2ft 11in (128 x 90cm).
