Circa 1890.
An excellent Daghestan rug with two large central medallions with serrated edges, surrounded by six hooked medallions and the field filled with tribal design elements. Of particular note are the many small animals an the large human figure standing on top of a two humped camel.
The rug has a classic Daghestan main border and a floral rosette outer border.
The rug has even wear and medium / low pile.
Hand washed and ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
