Back
Very fine old wool pangden cloth- all hand spun wool and natural dyes. This piece is an exceptionally large piece consisting of 5 panels, circa 40 to 50 years old. i have had quite a few of these in the past and this is one of best i have seen. The weave is very tight and heavy and would make an excellent small blanket or throw rug. In the past these were worn by married women, but these days they are a fashion accoutrement for the modern Tibetan woman. This piece is in excellent condition with intact selvedges, no tears (one teeny tiny hole noted in l 3rd enlargement). With the advent of machine made polyester textiles these are hardly being made any more these days. d: 71cm/28in and w: 71cm/28in.
