Antique Eastern Anatolian Kurdish Yuruk long rug with three boxed medallion design. www.knightsantiques.co.uk
Size: 7ft 1in x 4ft 3in (216 x 130cm).
Circa 1880.
An excellent example of a Yuruk long rug, with a classic design of three boxed medallions and traditional colour palette. The light apricot / orange used in the border is traditional for this region of Eastern Anatolia, the medallions have a very clear dye quality. The side bindings are very finely done in a style unique to the Yuruk.
Superb condition with slight wear and even pile, slightly heavier wear in the top medallion. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
