a rare Antique Uzbek or Tajik Bukhara / Bokhara silver and gold metal embroidered Pesh Kurta (coat collar and sleeved trim) dating to the late 19th century. These very extravagant ornaments for were called zardozi (precious metal embroideries) and were made separately and then applied to expensive silk garments. They were predominantly made in the Bukhara region and often made for the elite and noble women of the khanate. They were likely bridal garments. This exceptional set is on a green silk velvet and red bannat wool ground. The repeating floral design is expressed authentically, suggesting sign of good age. a real majestic piece in a mint condition and quality. it is lined with silk warp cotton weft Ikat. size collar piece 86cm x 9cm (34” x 3.5”") and the sleeves 28cm x 4cm (11” x 1.5”).
