Antique Peking Chinese Oriental Rug 9’2” x 11’7” #7945
This circa 1900 Peking Chinese Oriental rug measures 9’2” x 11’7”. It has a deep indigo background. The motif has a planted pot of flowers on a four legged stool completely surrounded by twelve butterflies. There are four images of foliage growing out of a rockery each containing a bird and six more butterflies, three at each end of the carpet. There is a wreath of flowers in bloom surrounding the entire field of the rug. The borders consist of one major border filled with different types of flowers in a vine and meandering flower motif which edges into the apron and inside of the rug. There are reciprocal minor borders of bamboo. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance.
