Large Taoist painting depicting deities.- 120 years old. This piece is dated 29th year of Emperor Daoguang- 1849. The dedication reads it is was gifted by a Li Qinfeng to what i assume was a temple. This has been restored and remounted, quite a difficult process, the last time inquired locally the cost of doing this, i was quoted $900. and this was 15 years ago. Mounted dimensions l: 200cm/79in and w: 30in. Unmounted l: 133cm/52in and w: 62cm/24.5in. The upper area of the mounted area has some staining, there are minor losses to the painting, as well as numerous creases- please examine images carefully. This is the oldest painting of this kind i have found to date- this could possibly be from the Yao ethnic minority.
