Primitive, old, minimal Turkish prayer rug. Central Anatolia. 19th century. Fully lined with a museum grade linen backing and velcro hanging strip. Size: 50 x 27.5 inches. The images here were shot in both interior light and full sun. The actual color is somewhere in between these exposures. It is hard to know just how old this rug is. It is at least a solid 19th century piece - not a mid or early 20th century rug. i have seen a couple of these over the years, but they are rare. Wear is consistent with use. Brown color could be camel hair??
