Timorese Men’s Blanket: Good Amfoang, West Timor men’s mantle using supplementary warp weaving decoration on the side panels and quirky embroidered animals in the center panel. This piece is late 20th century and is woven with homespun cotton thread. Except for the embroidered pattern the dyes appear to be natural. The colors on this piece are quite toned and mellow compared to what i have seen recently coming from that region. No damage, some light fading may be noted in the reddish areas of the first enlargement. l: 178cm/70in (without fringe) and w: 107cm/42in.
