Special Offer: Very fine supplementary silk weft embroidered two paneled wedding blanket, from the Maonan ethnic group (Guangxi/Guizhou province) circa later first half 20th century. This foundation is woven from all and spun local cotton and silk floss thread. This has an unusually wide central band with eccentric “wanzi” swastika meander and six pointed star design, also there are natural dyed upper and lower cotton margins -the first time i have ever seen on a Maonan piece. The pattern is made of are phoenix, butterflies and flowers woven against a key fret background. There are a few inconspicuouous small holes caused by broken weft threads. This is loosely woven giving it a soft, supple feel and abrash look. w: 66cm/26in and l: 92cm/36in. With border- w: 103cm/41in and l: 123cm/48.5in. Free shipping.
