An outstanding Antique mid 19th century Uzbek Adras Ikat shield shaped hanging from Bokhara / Bukhara region. It is a haft rant / seven colour Ikat which is considered the highest form of tie dye Ikat weaving because of the complex weaving skills needed to pull off so many colours in these textiles. The weave is silk warp / cotton weft adras as most very early such textiles were. Design is phenomenal boasting intricately detailed archaic motifs. The natural dyes colours are dazzling to say the least. It is lined with a floral print cotton and finished with polychrom tassels.
