#7116 Antique Agra Rug from India
This third-quarter 19th-century Agra measures 11’1” x 15’3”. It has a black background with a vine and tendril design in coral, very pale sky blue, ivory and mocha brown. The vine and flower motif is quite large and very bold giving it a very Moghul feeling. The black background is corroded as is consistent with the age of this carpet. The design is full pile and this accompanying the black background gives the rug an embossed look and feel. The border is quite lovely. It has meandering vines and flower head motif on a coral ground. This is a stunning carpet which will make a grand statement in any room you care to use it in. The ends and sides are intact. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays shipping with insurance.
