Antique Ersari Beshir Turkmen torba of unusual diamond lattice design.
Circa 1900.
a good Beshir Turkmen torba with an unusual diamond lattice design on a rich red ground, note the clear yellow used throughout. These weavings are often considered to be dowry weavings as they were used to decorate the camel during the wedding procession.
The torba is in excellent condition with very slight wear and full pile, it has a very soft floppy handle. The remnants of the long tassels can be seen along the lower edge.
Hand washed and ready for display.
