Antique Salar Khani Baluch rug with turreted gul design.
Circa 1900.
a very nice small Baluch rug, with a design of two rows of five large turreted guls similar in design to those found in Saryk Turkmen weaving. The minor guls are similar to chuval guls also found in Turkmen weaving. The wide border is a classic Baluch design. The use of strong yellow is a feature of this rug.
The rug has even wear with medium pile, very soft wool, goats hair side bindings. The rug has some damage to the sides and lower corners as can be seen in the images, this is reflected in the price.
Hand washed and ready for use or display. Suitable for normal domestic use.
