Antique Caucasian Kuba region rug with scarce design and small size.
Circa 1890.
a superb colourful little rug that is probably from ChiChi in the Kuba region of the Eastern Caucasus. The main star border is a design found on ChiChi rugs, the repeat diamond field design is most unusual.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile, there is some corrosion to the black/browns.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
