Antique South Caucasian Shirvan banded kilim of outstanding colour and design. click the link www.knightsantiques.co.uk to view more items.
Circa 1900. Size: 8ft 6in x 7ft 8in (258 x 234cm).
A very good example of type, with an abrashed indigo blue and soft terracotta red bands offsetting the large medallions in soft pastel colours.
The kilim is very well drawn with a spacious large scale design. The weave is firm and dense. The kilim is of an unusual almost square size and has probably been reduced in length from a much longer kilim.
The kilim is in excellent condition with very slight wear.
The kilim is suitable for normal domestic use.
The kilim has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
