Circa 1890. Size: 4ft 2in x 3ft 3in (126 x 100cm).
A excellent East Caucasian rug with a single vertical row of 3 'Lesghi Stars', Superb colour and fine Shirvan like weave, the slightly firm handle could place the rug in the Kuba region. The three stars and the main border are in a soft green and compliment the madder red field well. The border design is of a stylised Kufic design. a good small rug of almost square shape.
Excellent condition, Slight even wear with short even pile.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
