Antique Persian tribal rug, possibly shahsavan, with an interesting field paired with an outstanding dramatic border. Mostly good pile, (rug weighs about 15 lbs.) some wear as shown. As found, dirty with edge loss, unraveling, heavy brown oxidation of a short length of field as shown. i see one crude palm size patch repair in field. All natural colors including a pretty apricot orange. Excellent restoration project. Good age, ca. 1880 or earlier. 3’9” x 9’
