Arab Al-Ahwar or Iraqi Marsh Arab Samawa Kilim, Early 20th Century. Deep blue indigo, tightly twisted wool ground kilim. Chain stitched embroidery in wool. a couple of very small holes and some wear in the embroidery in the lower section of the kilim. The structure is atypical and seems to be in what is known as a skip plain weave. a wild and unusual piece. 78 x 251 cm.
