Antique Caucasian karrabagh rug, a type often described as “Kasim Ushak”. This reasonably early example has the characteristic medallions and serrated leaf motifs plus many interesting tribal decorations of humans and animals. Notice also one end uses a squared design and the other a gabled end. All good natural colors featuring strong yellow highlights. Overall mostly good pile with a small spot or two of wear. i believe there is a small repair spot or two. Appears reasonably clean. Good age, 3rd qtr. 19th c. 5’3” x 8’3”
