Shepherd's Aba or Cloak, 1950s or so. The wool is thick and full. This is a wonderful ethnographic cloak woven in one piece but with the wefts crossing back at the mid-way point on the front of the cloak. The cloak is then folded and the sides are then stitched together to the back section to form the cloak. Shepherds would wear these on extended stays in the mountains with their flocks for protection from the cold mountain nights. 99 x 151 cm.
