Back
jaf kurd khorjin. Complete, except that side seams have been removed so that it is now one long strip. Overall length, unfolded, is 102” (250 cm), Width varies, but is about 21” (55 cm). Each pile face is about 21” x 25” (55 cm x 64 cm). Both faces have deep, dense pile. No holes, no discernable wear except for slight wear where it was originally folded at the bottom of each bag (in the middle of the pile panels with multicolored chevrons). All good, bright, saturated natural colors. Back is red plainweave with strips of brocade design, including in the bridge area. In the center of the bridge is one row of braided closure loops. This khorjin was originally folded and sewn so that the closure panels at the top of each face overlapped, and the one row of closure loops could be used for either face, or for both.
