Tibetan khaden with various shades of blue making up the so-called 'gau box', or amulet, design evenly interspaced throughout the brown main field in 'lattice' like pattern. a 'Greek t' main border is itself bordered by a narrow outer red pile border mimicking the often seen red cloth covered felt border so beloved by Tibetans on their carpets. Natural dyes and what appears to 'possibly' be an un-dyed wool for the brown field. Cotton warp and wool weft, size 1.50m x 0.85m (59” x 15.5”) made pre 1920 (i.e. in the early 1900’s). In very good condition with some pile wear as commensurate with age.
