#7165 Antique Peking Chinese Rug 9’2″ x 11’8″
This Peking Chinese rug measures 9’2” x 11’8”. It has a medium blue field with a central medallion of four flowering urns coming together to form a wreath with their foliage. a single urn motif is worked in the corners complete with the same foliage. Each quadrant has a circle of lotus flowers facing each other in pale pink, gray, green and putty with touches of ivory. Sprigs of flowers are lightly scattered over the field. The ivory border is worked in a blue ground cartouche motif containing various bits of Buddhist iconographies such as the beribbon urn, chessboard, umbrella, conch shell, etc. The cartouches are separated with butterflies and birds. This rug is 99.5% full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. This is a magnificent solid antique Chinese rug.
