Circa 1920.
a very good Erivan rug with a very well drawn example of a classic Bordjalou Kazak prayer rug design. The red ground contains two quartered diamond medallions and a floating prayer mihrab, at the base is a re-entrant prayer niche. The borders are all of classic Caucasian designs. As is typical of Erivan rugs the wool is fine and soft.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile, the original end finishes are retained at both ends.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
