Tibetan Monastic Dance Robe Tailored in Tibet using a repurposed early 18th century Qing dynasty, Yongzheng period commemorative court robe. Woven rich brown silk satin brocaded with polychrome silk and gold wrapped threads is adorned with a repeating pattern of "Shou" longevity medallions surrounded by auspicious bats in flight in a cloud filled sky and above a turbulent sea pierced by tall shafted mountains. The auspicious symbols of the design suggests the original court Robe was a 60th birthday present. How it ended up in Tibet is a mystery. Price on request
