The indigenous people of the region had a centuries long and very illustrious stone carving tradition. Also seen here are what were likely stone projectiles for Andean slings. All come from the Lake Titicaca Basin and date from the Middle Horizon - Tiwanaku period through the Inca period. They were fashioned from very hard stone that would have been quite difficult and labor intensive to work. The largest stone disc/mace head measures 4 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches in thickness.
