Back
Stunning merlot red Yomud Turkmen palas kilim. 5'8" x 10'8". This is one of the older ones, likely circa 1900. These are a tight woven kilim with wool embroidery for the design on top. Still has the original tassles which they would have used to tie the kilim to a peg in the ground while using it.
Also an interesting metal piece with custom stamp woven onto the back. It has some farsi letters on one side and an image on the other. Never seen that.
Overall great condition for it's age. One or two fingertip size holes, a few selvedge issues, and a little wear near one edge. All visible in the photos.
Let me know if you need any additional info.
Cheers!
