Lovely and unusual antique Kuba(?)Caucasian small poshti (?) rug, 95x62 cm.,ca. 1900, with multiple kufic border elements used as field design. Woven on woolen warps with brown woolen wefts. It has a pliable, floppy feel, not Kuba like.
Good wooly pile all over without wear.
a small patch of 4x4 cm. at a corner and a bit of glue residue around it.
Two selvedge repairs at one side.
All natural dyes, except for a tip faded brighter pink, which was used in one single gul only(at the top end),and in a few small details surrounding it.
