Qashqai rug, early 20th century, 218 x 120 cm (86” x 47”) South Persia Tribal A classic three medallion design, but with the addition of smaller medallions on the axis. The larger ones feature the “Qashqai Emblem” in different colorful renderings. Very prominent is the frame of shining multi-coloured half-diamonds all around the field. The midnight blue field is populated by stylized animals, bushes with chevron branches showing rich variations in its renderings, and a array of rosettes and tribal motifs. Fair condition, even low pile all around, a little foundation, small repiling, a few knots missing on upper end, rest of it complete and orginal.
