Early 19th Century East Anatolian Sivas Area Rug.Like the comparative example in the Sivas museum (described as "Erzincan"), this piece has a field divided into four box-shaped sections,each containing a large cross design.Finely woven, with a high pile of glossy wool and brilliant colours, this rug is a typical example of nomad weavings from East Anatolia.It may be the product of an early Kurdish tribal group. Good pile on it but need restoration on it.Size 93 x 172 cm
