Monkey mask, Guatemala. Wood, paint, glass, 7.5″ (19 cm) high by 6.25″ (16 cm) wide, early to mid 20th century. This ‘monkey’ mask was used in the ‘Costeño’ and ‘Baile de los Animales’ Dances, and is also referred to as a ‘mico’ mask.
