Shiraz Persian, knotted circa in 1950, 311 x 235 (cm) 10' 2" x 7' 8" carpet id: P-4253
The black knots are oxidized. The knots, the warp and the weft threads are mixed with hand spun lamb wool and goat hair. The background color is dark indigo, the three center medallions and the surrounded large border are dark brick, decorated with animals, the selvages are rolled on one line with different color wool, the edges are woven with 1 to 3cm kelim, very thick pile for heavy use, in perfect condition, silky wool, with its quality is a rare example, soft like an handkerchief, high standard quality and in its original shape.
