Aimaq "Baluch" Rug, Late 19th Century. Dokhtar-e Ghazi variant design. The repeat floral motif is also similar to those that appear on Seljuk rugs. The repeated pattern is broken up by diagonal lines of floral motifs with a break in the spacing rythm at the top of the rug to stimulate the eye. Low pile in the field. Contains six colors in wonderful purple, electric blue, coral red, brown, yellow and white. 95 x 191 cm.
