19th century mina khani Kuba rug in remarkable condition. 62"x50". Velvety pile, down to corduroy to a few lines of top of the knot in some places. No restorations or paint. Great wool. Original edges and ends. Lightly corroded brown, a little closer to visible structure in the brown rosettes. Very small difference in turquoise/green front to back. Compares nicely with
In storage since a time when Dekalb Illinois had 5 digit phone #'s and rug washers used coated stock tags. 50 years? Came to the person i bought it from wrapped in paper. The previous owners name is written along with the dimensions on the other side of the tag.
i would like to trade, wholly or in part for a Mexican textile of the same era and condition. Barring that, I'll take filthy lucre. Thanks for looking. Peace.
