Daghestani Soumak, Mid-19th century, possibly earlier. This wonderful old Caucasian soumak was made pre-1870s before chemical dyes were introduced into the area. Fantastic colors and design with swastika motifs in some of the eight-pointed stars in the border. Some of them appear in a variant configuration. Some wear.
