Qajar Persian Shalwar Panel, mid-19th Century. Small cyprus trees with a peacock-like fan radiating out from behind it. Or it's possible these are actually meant to be peacocks (3rd image). Beautifully drawn trees and other foliage. The weaving is very fine and meticulous. The colors are all natural dyes including a pink from a dye plant that has a tendency to fade. Note the backside is more intense than the front which is typical of these pieces. 49 x 61 cm
