An exceptional antique Persian Zoroastrian silk embroidered on silk ground, dating to the 19th century. Made up of bands of polychrome silk bands with fine silk embroidery with tiny floral designs that sparkle. The visual spectacle it creates is a dazzling exercise in colour. We see blue, yellow, green, purple, black and maroon red. Most Zoroastrian migrated from Persia / Iran to India in the late 19th century and that is what perhaps explains why examples are found in India. This piece is mounted on a black fabric and would look great as a wall hanging. In a very good condition and offered at a good price. Size: 101cm x 45cm (40” x 18”).
